A Dial-Up Internet account allows access to the Internet over any standard phone line.
Basic information about Dial-Up Internet service:
- The service uses a modem that is built into your computer and can deliver speeds up to 56K.
- Your computer is set up to dial a local access number that “dials into” the Internet Server over a regular phone line.
- While using Dial-Up Internet service, your phone line will be busy, so you will not be able to use the phone line to make or receive phone calls.
